TitleOcular manifestations associated with COVID-19 vaccination
PurposeTo present the ocular manifestations following Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination in an Asian Indian individuals
MethodsRetrospective observational case series. All patients underwent complete ophthalmic evaluation including best corrected visual acuity, intraocular pressure measurement, slit lamp biomicroscopic examination and dilated fundus evaluation.
ResultsSeven patients presented with anterior uveitis in this 5 cases of ankylosing spondylitis , one patient had central retinal artery occlusion, one patient had acute macular neuroretinopathy and one patient with acute retinal necrosis. Duration of presentation after vaccination ranged from 2 days to 28 days They are managed with anti-inflammatory therapy +. antiviral therapy.
ConclusionOcular inflammation / infection can occur after COVISHIELD and awareness helps treat better. It is important to treat the dysimmune phenomenon secondary to COVID 19 vaccination and the ocular manifestations of uveitis with anti-inflammatory therapy
